School sponsorship program
YDI HEART TO HEART UGANDA LIMITED offers sponsorship to the vulnerable youth and children in both formal primary, secondary and tertiary levels. This program targets the vulnerable youth and children who are below the age of 15 years old and those between 15-18 years and have lost one or both their biological parents, heading households, who are out of school. The children who benefit from the sponsorship program are selected by YDI HEART TO HEART community groups in a process that is closely monitored by our staff. These children are provided fees, uniforms, scholastic materials and tool kits.
Education and school support partnerships
In addition to sponsorships, we provide support through partnerships in different schools in 5 districts; Kampala, wakiso, Busia, Hoima, Mayuge.
We do this by building classrooms and other building to ensure infrastructure is in place for each school to effectively provide education needs in the community.
We also do capacity building for school leaders, provide useful learning materials like textbooks and monitor progress of activities in such schools.
Artisan Apprenticeship:
Under Artisan apprenticeship, children aged 16-18 and are living in poverty, are out of school or heading households are trained by village master artisans within the vicinity of their communities for a period of 12-18 months in different trades of tailoring, hairdressing, carpentry, motor mechanics, brick masonry, weaving and knitting, to provide them with technical skills, trade-work ethical entrepreneurship.
Vocational Training/Tertiary institution:
This program benefits children who have lost one or both of their biological parents; and are between 16 and 18 years. The beneficiaries are trained in vocational technical skills at given centers in the different trades of tailoring and garment cutting, agriculture and animal husbandry, block/bricklaying and converter practice and carpentry joinery etc.
And on completion of their training, YDI makes a contribution for them to be able to startup a new life.

YDI (HHF) is a youth led organization with a noble cause of providing sustainable development by improving livelihoods of the vulnerable through economic empowerment, enhancing and promoting practical skills. It is an independent organization with political neutrality, thus not charged with a duty of promoting any political ideology.
